Description
In this new episode, Vincent Gabriel welcomes Alfred Gerstl, an internationalist specialising in the Indo-Pacific, head of the EUVIP Project and President of the Central European Institute of Asian Studies. Together they look at a key theme in the institutional architecture of the Asia-Pacific: ASEAN. What is this institution? Where does it come from? What are its similarities and differences with the European Union? What is the relationship between these two institutions? And what is ASEAN's relationship with China and the USA?
This podcast is part of the European project "The EU in the Volatile Indo-Pacific Region", the main aim of which is to raise awareness of the strategic, political and economic importance of the volatile Indo-Pacific region for Europe and for a European approach to this region based on values: https: //www.euvip-project.com/.
