Pourquoi Allo ?
\a.lo\ is an interjection to greet someone or to confirm that the person being addressed is listening, or to confirm if anyone is listening. “Allô? Tu m’entends?”
Used in many countries, cultures and languages, “Allo” is used to connect to others.
Funny enough, “Allo” comes from Ancient Greek állos and actually means other. We can also find it as a prefix in the word allophone, defining persons whose mother tongue is one other than that spoken by the majority.
Well, our podcast represents all of these ideas! We want to offer a way for our allophone students to connect to others through original stories, told by French speakers in an authentic French language.
