Description
Aaron, Andrew and John continue their trek through the alternate versions of songs from David Bowie's Toy album. Like Liza Jane, these songs have been everywhere! This episode tackles the Tony Visconti mixes of Toy, comparing the tracks and versions (in some cases) to those done by the album's original producer Mark Plati. As hinted at above, the Toy-era remake of Bowie's first commercially released recording, Liza Jane, is discussed as well.
Tracks covered:
- Liza Jane
- Let Me Sleep Beside You (Visconti mix)
- The London Boys (alternate version)
- Silly Boy Blue (Tibet version)
- You've Got A Habit Of Leaving (Visconti mix)
- Hole In The Ground (Visconti mix)
- Toy (Your Turn To Drive) (Visconti mix)
- Can't Help Thinking About Me (Visconti mix)
- You've Got A Habit Of Leaving (radio edit)
- Shadow Man (piano and vocal mix)
- Silly Boy Blue (alternate ending mix)

On that note, music in the podcast is not owned by Battlecries + Champagne and is, rather, the work of David Bowie. Music is used under the fair dealing provision in Canadian copyright law to the best of our understanding. We encourage listeners interested in hearing the full versions of songs to purchase them at their local record stores, through online digital music stores or heck, provide the Bowie Estate with some streaming revenue!
