Speaker #0Allez, let's go. Salut, hello, bon dia, it's Caroline. Ou Caroline, ou Carolina. It doesn't really matter too much. I am now back and excited to start this podcast again. Just for the backstory here, this podcast actually started in 2020. Well, sort of. I launched a teaser and two episodes but then yeah 2020 happened. Meeting people was not really an option so I moved on to other things. But now I am back and the idea remained the same. Talking to people that have said bye bye to their boss and have gone the self-employed way but especially to pursue an artistic or craft career. Why am I interested in this? Well because I'm an artist, I've been mostly self-employed and I want to chat with other people's that are doing the same. So you see I always liked art, not just looking at it but making it and not just making it but selling it. In short figuring out how to turn my art into a business. I had the chance to do this twice. I had a dreadlock shop in Ireland and I also had an online shop where I crafted unique home decor pieces made from animal skulls. Yes animal skulls I know it's creepy. I absolutely loved to have my own business you But I must say I often felt lonely. That's why I always loved to connect with people, artists, crafters, entrepreneurs. So I want to talk with the one out there creating, doing, building something meaningful for them and others. I want to dive into their world of making art, selling art, and everything in between. Oh by the way, if my accent didn't already give it away, I am French, but I currently live in Barcelona. Barcelona is a city which is buzzing with creativity. It is full artists, craft markets, festivals, small business, designers, you name it. And there is an insane amount of art everywhere you look at. It is impossible not to feel inspired here. So well, I felt inspired to talk to those people out there and to do this podcast. I want to know how it all started for them, how they made it work, what their journey has been like. My hope is that through this podcast, this conversation and stories, we will inspire and encourage others to start their own creative journey. One last thing that you need to know about me, alongside this podcast, I also guide artists on how to develop their business. Whether that's creating their Etsy shop, building an online presence, finding their clients or setting up some basics to learn how to sell. If that's something that you are curious about, don't hesitate to reach out. All right, that's enough for me now. I gotta go meet some people and make some episodes.
