Description
As Impressionism’s last surviving artist, Monet became its iconic figure. Yet in 1926, the year of his death, the movement no longer embodied the avant-garde and Monet’s final work was disconcerting. This first episode of the series thus explores the place the artist occupied at that time within the artistic landscape.
