Description
Monday night, Charlotte City Council votes on a ten-month pilot: a 10 p.m. curfew every night for everyone under 18, starting November 1. That includes 16- and 17-year-olds, who have no curfew at all today. We read the ordinance itself: the exceptions, the penalties for teens and parents, and what officers have to ask before writing anything up. In August, council asked police for a pilot with ways to measure whether it works. The agenda item doesn't name any. Also today: the new CMS board vice chair says she's been threatened, Wegmans eyes a second Charlotte-area store in Cornelius before its first opens, and Charlotte FC plays Chicago tonight. Plus a handmade-dumpling spot in University City.
