The World Cup crowns its champion today — Spain vs. Argentina — but Charlotte's biggest soccer moment is still ten days away. This is CLT Daily for Sunday, July 19: your independent daily briefing for the Queen City.

On today's show: how Charlotte is about to become the center of American soccer, with MLS All-Star Week landing at Bank of America Stadium July 27–29 — and the hometown club right in the middle of it (Tim Ream, Pep Biel, Ashley Westwood). Plus: Restaurant Week opens Friday, the Fed says the World Cup gave local bars and restaurants a real boost, and Uptown's $2.4B building boom keeps rolling. We close with where to catch this afternoon's final and what to do around town tonight.
