Description
Mecklenburg's one-cent transit tax has been on your receipts since July. On Monday, October 5, the bus side of that deal starts to show: 15-minute buses on the Airport Sprinter and Central Avenue, a new North Meck Connector to Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson, and a new on-demand zone in west Charlotte. We hold it up against the campaign promise and the numbers WFAE's Steve Harrison ran in May, and look at the fare-evasion problem the state auditor flagged. We also close the toll-lane countdown. Plus: the CMS board votes 6β2 to start its superintendent search as a sixth senior leader heads out, and Atrium's WakeMed takeover waits on the attorney general and the FTC. And a free wine tasting in Dilworth tonight.
