Description
A federal jury convicted two Charlotte residents β William Stanley, 25, and Heather Morrow, 45 β over a November blockade at the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations building. Both were convicted of misdemeanors; Morrow was also convicted of simple assault on a federal officer, and Stanley was acquitted of that charge. Both are out on bond with no sentencing date set. It's the first detailed, named, public federal account of any single day in Operation Charlotte's Web β and it concerns the two people who protested the operation, not any of the roughly 400 it detained, whose fate this show reported last Sunday that nobody would disclose. There's a real explanation for that, and it isn't a conspiracy. Plus: three human cases of West Nile virus in Mecklenburg County, and the Panthers' home opener finally has a date.
