Meet Commodore Fina Bua Anoi, the first woman commissioned into the Ghana Navy and the highest ranking woman in its history. Joining almost by chance as a young graduate with no coastal background, she went on to serve in UN peacekeeping missions in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Liberia and Western Sahara. She reflects on the barriers women in uniform still face, from limited access to training to harassment, and makes the case for greater female leadership in peacekeeping and maritime security.
