Entre Ibiza y Formentera se encuentra la mayor zona marina protegida de las Baleares : Es Freus. En 1999, las praderas marinas que residen justo debajo de la superficie fueron declaradas Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Más de dos décadas después, ahora están amenazadas por el cambio climático y necesitan más protección. El mes pasado, 11 países de toda Europa se reunieron por primera vez en Formentera, en el marco de la Red Mediterránea de Posidonia, para debatir las formas de preservar la y garantizar que siga manteniendo las aguas de las Baleares prístinas. Este mes, Jo Youle se embarcó en un barco hacia la isla más pequeña de las Pitiusas para reunirse con la ex ministra de Medio Ambiente del Consell de Formentera, Daisee Aguilera, que es bióloga marina y consultora medioambiental, para saber más sobre los secretos de Es Freus y cómo podemos cuidar las mágicas arenas blancas de Formentera.
