Este mes vuelve el Día Mundial de la Localización y lo celebramos con un episodio especial con Helena Norberg-Hodge. La primera vez que nos pusimos al día con Helena, fundadora y directora de Local Futures, fue en el episodio #4 y escuchamos cómo defiende el movimiento de impulsar la localización en todo el mundo para imponer un cambio sistémico.

Este año, grupos de todos los continentes están trabajando para reconstruir nuestro tejido comunitario, reducir el impacto ecológico y aumentar el bienestar humano, devolviendo la economía al ámbito local. A través de los mercados de agricultores, la permacultura, los huertos comunitarios, las alianzas de pequeñas empresas, las microrredes, los proyectos de educación alternativa y muchas otras acciones se están llevando a cabo para apoyar la producción local de alimentos, pero también su consumo. En las últimas décadas, el creciente movimiento de localización ha demostrado tener un enorme potencial para reducir las emisiones y los residuos, aumentar la productividad y el empleo, mejorar el bienestar social y mental y empoderar a las comunidades locales.
