In this episode, I’m joined by Debra McNinch, who shares her personal journey as a Christian parent after her adult son announced that he was transgender. For Debra, this moment felt like a sudden wave crashing into the peaceful rhythm of her family life.
During our conversation, Debra spoke openly about the emotional and spiritual struggle that followed. She shares the questions she wrestled with, the fears she experienced, and the way her faith guided her as she tried to navigate a situation she never expected to face.
Over time, this experience led her to write the book Battle Cry: Waging the Spiritual Battle for Your Prodigal. In it, she encourages parents who are walking through similar situations to remain grounded in prayer and faith.
This discussion explores what it looks like to love your child deeply while also seeking God’s wisdom in difficult circumstances. It’s a conversation about faith, family, prayer, and trusting God even when the road ahead feels uncertain.
