Description

As the demand for non-animal-based materials in the fashion and footwear market increases, products such as so-called vegan-based leather imitations are booming. However, many of those products are advertised as environmentally friendly while containing a large percentage of plastic, one of the biggest threats to our ecosystem.

Along with the recent launch of HyphaLite™, ISA’s first sustainable material featuring more than 90% bio-based content, the host of ISA Voice, Keith, is taking the opportunity to disclose the use of plastics within the leather imitations segment and the environmental concerns it causes in the latest podcast and reveals ISA’s motivation behind the commitment to creating sustainable material alternatives.
