In this episode I'm joined by Jimi Okubanjo, director and producer of the documentary film "Arise Firebird: Women of Color Transcending and Finding Joy at Work," Jimi will be sharing the story behind what inspired her to make the film, including her own experiences with workplace trauma, and gives us important insights into the challenges faced by underrepresented professionals in the workplace. Through "Arise Firebird," Jimi aims to address issues of toxic work environments and promote inclusivity and respect for all professionals, emphasizing that competency should not be a prerequisite for dignity at work. We’ll also be chatting about her positive experiences of leadership, and our shared love of Star Trek & what we can learn about diversity and inclusion from the world of Star Trek and the politics of the United Federation of Planets?
