Our message for this week is titled "Simon to Peter." PART 1

As we know, Simon was a fisherman who was called by Jesus to become a fisher of men.

Today, we will dig deeper and explore what it means to be someone who hears and obeys.

In John 1:42, we see Jesus giving Simon [ "he has heard" or "the listener, obeys " ] a new name -

Peter means "rock" or "stone."

But why did Jesus choose this name for Simon?

Because Peter was a man who heard and obeyed.

He was a good listener and followed the teachings of Jesus.

We will learn from Peter's example and discover how we too can be like him - people who hear and obey.
