Description
FC ESPANOL we leraned about how the serpent tempted Eve and she took a bite from the forbidden fruit, and then gave some to Adam as well. And in that moment, their eyes were opened and they realized they were naked.
Genesis 3:7 says, “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.”
This Sunday we will learn what happened in Adam and Eve’s lives after they sinned.
How they were filled with shame and tried to cover their nakedness with fig leaves.
Representing all of humanity.
Just like Adam and Eve, when we sin, our eyes are opened to our own nakedness – to our true selves, with all our imperfections and flaws.
And just like them, we try to cover it up with fig leaves – with our own efforts and self-righteousness.
We will reminded that even though sin may have exposed our weaknesses, it does not define who we are. God created us in His image and likeness.
And even after Adam and Eve sinned, God did not leave them alone in their shame.
He provided them with clothes made of animal skin, foreshadowing the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ who would cover our nakedness with His righteousness.
No matter what sins have been committed, no matter how flawed and imperfect we may feel, God has made a way for us to be clothed in His righteousness.
We just have to be born again in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins.
