Description

Hello everyone! 😊

I’m excited to welcome you today for a special episode (in English!) featuring Karim Sandid! This is episode 41 and the 3rd of season 3, where we’ll get to know the inspiring journey of this family doctor, designer, and entrepreneur!

A Quest for Impact

From an early age, Karim dreamed of doing research. When came the time to choose what studies  to pursue, he found himself torn between studying computer science and medicine. What ultimately drew him to healthcare was the promise of making an impact and gaining autonomy. After starting his career as a general practitioner in Paris, he took the opportunity to move to the UK and discovered a whole new world! In this episode, we’ll explore how the approach to healthcare, patient interaction, the business ecosystem and even the mindset of practitioners differ between France and the UK.

A lifelong learner with a passion for creativity

Karim sees himself as a perpetual learner! Whether it’s through art, entrepreneurship, or coding, he’s constantly seeking to expand his knowledge and learn new skills. In this episode, we dive into the story behind Kuma Health, a companion app for people living with autoimmune diseases, designed to help them regain control and clarity throughout their health journey. You’ll hear about the steps involved in building this startup and the support they received from the Zinc incubator.

Design, experience, be different, and
 Just do it!

Karim will also share his perspective on entrepreneurship, embracing a “do it” mindset, managing others’ expectations, and accepting one’s own way of working. We’ll also touch on mental health—an often overlooked but critical topic. For Karim, design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about challenging preconceived notions and finding deeper meaning. Get ready for an episode that will shake up your ideas!

A special shout-out to the team at the Shangri-La Hotel for hosting us in such a stunning setting, and to Karim for his time! It’s always a pleasure to bring these episodes to you. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram (and hit that subscribe button!).
