Songs have carried people through marches, movements and moments when staying silent was the easier option. But what turns a song into an act of resistance?

In the first episode of Music as Resistance, we talk with Windborne about the protest songs they carry, the histories inside them, and why singing together still matters. From the US Civil Rights movement and anti-war organizing to struggles against fascism, they explore how music can create courage, hold memories and bring people together when the world is trying to pull them apart.

And at the heart of it all: hope is something you do, joy matters, and sometimes resistance sounds like people raising their voices together.
