How a CAP member's mentoring of a medical resident sparked an educational resource, plus the latest opportunities to advocate for pathology, coming up next on the Path News Network. Welcome to the Path News Network Daily Edition, powered by the College of American Pathologists. I'm Brittani Riddle. Today is Tuesday, November 11th. Here's the latest news. What started as a conversation between CAP member Dr. Kamran Mirza and Dr. Cullen Lilley, now a resident at UCLA, has evolved into PathElective, an online community that offers resources and training to medical residents and connects them with practicing pathologists. In an interview with The Pathologists, Dr. Mirza said, quote, in resource-limited settings, access to diverse cases and experienced faculty has often been a challenge. Digitization helps bridge that gap, offering broader and more equitable access to pathology training than ever before. He's a professor at the University of Michigan Medical School. Time is running out before Medicare cuts fees for clinical lab tests by 15%. Without congressional action, the cuts will go into effect on January 1st. Pathologists can use the CAP's Action Center to tell federal lawmakers to pass the Reforming and Enhancing Sustainable Updates to Laboratory Testing Services Act, or RESULTS Act, to stop the cuts. With just a few weeks left in 2025, now is the time to give your opinion to your elected officials. In addition to the RESULTS Act, the CAP is asking members to lend their voices to several other issues, including workforce shortages, and payment reform. Go to the CAP Action Center to make your voice heard. Finally, tomorrow is CAP's Member Appreciation Day. Don't miss the new benefit perks including CAP On Demand and PATH Together. You can also enjoy a 10% discount on CAP merchandise until November 14th. Listen to PATH News tomorrow at 5 a.m. Eastern Time for a complete rundown and join the conversation on social media using hashtag CAP member appreciation. That's all for today on the Path News Network Daily Edition. Find more on today's stories in the show notes and our member newsletters on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Before we go, we'd like to acknowledge all of the veterans. We thank you for your service. We're back tomorrow at 5 a.m. Eastern Time. I'm Brittani Riddle. Thank you for listening.
