Making the recruitment process for future pathology trainees more equitable. And we use apps to buy groceries, so why not one for medical ethics? This and more coming up next on Path News Network. Hello and welcome to Path News Network Daily Edition, powered by the College of American Pathologists. I'm Nancy Johnson. It's Monday, July 21st. Here are the latest headlines. More fairness and transparency are coming to the pathology fellowship recruitment process. The CAP and 11 subspecialty groups have signed a joint statement to move most or all pathology fellowships into a match or common timeline, just like nearly every other medical specialty. Several subspecialties have already signed on for the 2026-2027 year, with more expected soon. It's election season at the CAP. This year's election for president-elect and for board of governors positions is now open. Voting ends August 4th. Eligible CAP voters should receive an email from the organization's election vendor, Vote Now. The email will include an individual link to each voter's ballot. Any member in good standing can vote. Go to the show notes to learn more about the candidates. An interactive AI experience is coming to CAP25 in Orlando in September. The Innovation Hub will offer hands-on demos, short talks, and a chance to connect with experts in AI and digital pathology. Members of the CAP's Council on Informatics and Pathology Innovation will be there to discuss the technology. Register for the annual meeting in the show notes. Finally today, It's easy to access online food delivery wherever you are, so why not medical ethics? CAP members Dr. Kamran Mirza and Dr. Alex Tannenbaum created the Pathology Ethics app using funds they received as recipients of the CAP Foundation's Kytchus Award. The app offers a freely accessible, centralized educational resource for ethics topics in pathology and laboratory medicine. Find out how pathology departments can use the app to support the profession by going to the show notes. We'll let you know when the app is live. That's all for today's edition of Path News Network. Be sure to follow this newscast by clicking the plus sign in the upper right-hand corner of this podcast player.
