An interview with the CAP's incoming president, and how to get on the faculty for next year's annual meeting. This and more coming up next on Path News Network. Hello and welcome to Path News Network Daily Edition, powered by the College of American Pathologists. I'm Nancy Johnson. It's Friday, September 12th. Here are the latest headlines. Tomorrow in Orlando, Dr. Chi-Wei Jim Zhai will be sworn in as the 39th president of the CAP when Dr. Donald Karcher hands over the gavel. The themes of Dr. Zhai's presidency are connect, inspire, and embrace. He sat down with me for an interview that looked back at his start in China and his journey to America with little money but big dreams. Go to the show notes to watch the full interview and learn about his vision for his presidency. And tonight, on the eve of CAP25, the CAP Foundation is hosting Empowering Health, a magical evening at Haleo, featuring TV journalist and breast cancer survivor Christina Guerrero. Guerrero will share her cancer journey and highlight the critical role pathologists play in underserved communities. Guests will enjoy dinner at Haleo by José Andrés in Disney Springs and learn more about the foundation's broad reach, from free cancer screenings to global pathology programs. Proceeds from the event support grants for the next generation of pathologists. Want to join the faculty next year at CAP26? Now's your chance. Submit your course proposals for the 2026 annual meeting happening October 3rd through the 6th at the Wynn Las Vegas. This year's updates include a new online submission platform, one-hour limits on lectures, and a chance to lead a four-hour-long course. Proposals are due by noon central on September 22nd. The link is in the show notes. And finally, the new president-elect is signing copies of her memoir tomorrow at Cap 25. Dr. Kalisha Hill just released her new book, Pinnacles: Visible and Invisible, a powerful account of her journey from humble beginnings to leadership in pathology. A portion of the proceeds from the book will benefit the CAP Foundation, supporting initiatives that advance patient care and the profession. Be sure to bring your book for Dr. Hill to sign. She'll be at the CAP Foundation kiosk between noon and 1 p.m. on Saturday. Please visit the show notes for a link to purchase the book. That's all for today's edition of Path News Network. We're bringing you full coverage of CAP25 with audio and video broadcasts every day, as well as a daily newsletter. Subscribe to this show on Apple, Spotify, or your favorite podcast platform. I'm Nancy Johnson. Have a great day.
