  The longest government shutdown in history has ended. What does it mean for your labs? That and more coming up next on the Path News Network. Welcome to the Path News Network Daily Edition, powered by the College of American Pathologists. Today is Tuesday, November 18th. I'm Brittani Riddle. Here's the latest news. President Trump signed legislation last week ending the government shutdown. extending federal funding until January 30th. The legislation delays Medicare payment cuts to the clinical laboratory fee schedule, which were set to begin on January 1st. The measure gives lawmakers a brief window to find a long-term solution. CAP members can log into our Action Center to send an action alert urging Congress to stop the harmful cuts and pass the Results Act, which would stop the 15% cuts and develop a new method for calculating clinical lab fees. As the end of the year approaches, our advocacy work isn't slowing down. The CAP remains committed to advocating pathologist priorities, including stopping payment cuts, fixing workforce shortages, addressing gene patent issues, and more.
