New legislation could be a game changer for your Medicare payments, coming up next. Welcome to the Path News Network Daily Edition from the College of American Pathologists. Today is Tuesday, February 24th. I'm Brittany Riddle. A new bill in Congress could pause Medicare payment cuts for physicians. The CAP is backing the Efficiency Adjustment Delay Act. which would stop an efficiency policy from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services through 2030. CMS's efficiency adjustment policy is based on an untested approach and unfairly reduces payments. If passed, the Efficiency Adjustment Delay Act would protect physicians from those cuts, help stabilize practices facing workforce and inflation pressures, and give lawmakers time to reassess the data behind the policy. As part of an ongoing push for Medicare coverage reform, CAP leadership recently met with staff from the office of Rep. Nanette Baragon to share real-world examples of how current policies impact patient care. Dr. Mary Lay and Dr. Eric Glassie explained how restrictive local coverage determinations, or LCDs, can limit access to critical molecular and biomarker testing, delaying accurate diagnosis and timely treatment. The CAP is also tracking potential legislation that would increase transparency around Medicare LCD requests. We'll keep you posted as those efforts move forward. Are you looking to sharpen your advocacy and media skills? Register for an upcoming CAP media training. Learn to craft clear messages while speaking with reporters about issues affecting pathologists and patients. The next session is happening on Wednesday, March 18th. Sign up using the link in the show notes. In one month, pathologists from across the country will head to Washington, D.C. for the annual House of Delegates and Pathologist Leadership Summit. Join your colleagues to advocate, network, and connect. Secure your spot today using the link in the show notes. That's all for today on the Path News Network Daily Edition. Find more on today's stories in the show notes and our member newsletters on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We're back tomorrow at 5 a.m. Eastern Time. Thank you for listening. Have a great day.
