Push back against scope of practice creep coming up next on the Path News Network. Welcome back to the Path News Network Daily Edition powered by the College of American Pathologists. I'm Brittani Riddle. Today is Tuesday, September 2nd. Here's the latest news. The CAP is pushing back against the proposed Equitable Community Access to Pharmacist Services Act. If the legislation passes, Pharmacists could diagnose and manage certain illnesses such as COVID-19 without proper medical oversight. The CAP joined other medical associations in emphasizing the need for physician-led, team-based treatment for patients. Click the link in the show notes to read more. The August recess rally may be over, but you can still advocate. Use the CAP Action Center to let Congress know where you stand on critical issues affecting pathologists, including reforming prior insurance authorization and improving the physician workforce. The final countdown to CAP25 is on. In one week, more than 1,000 pathologists will connect in Orlando, Florida. Pathologists, you still have time to join us. Register today at CAP.org. That's all for today on the Path News Network Daily Edition, powered by the College of American Pathologists. Subscribe to this show on your favorite podcast platforms. Get more news like this in our member newsletters on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm Brittani Riddle. Thank you for listening. We'll see you tomorrow at 5 a.m. Eastern Time.
