A new update on how to diagnose a rare blood and bone marrow disorder could lead to more personalized care for patients. The CAP says the reclassification of myelodysplastic neoplasm now emphasizes genetic changes. This should better pinpoint disease subtypes and individual risk. Pathologists on the CAP's Personalized Health Care Committee helped review the new global standards and say the shift will improve both diagnosis and treatment decisions. Imbalance and inefficiency. Two words pathologists don't want to hear when they're managing a high-volume practice. Those challenges will be the focus of a November 18th webinar on workload distribution. In this two-hour live stream session, you'll learn how to delineate duties, assess productivity, and manage work-life balance. New research out of Harvard Medical School shows how artificial intelligence could change brain cancer diagnosis and treatment. A new AI tool called Picture can diagnose glioblastoma from a lookalike cancer known as primary central nervous system lymphoma. The two can look nearly identical under the microscope, but require very different treatments, making misdiagnosis dangerous. The new tool is an example of how AI can reach near-perfect accuracy. It's now available for scientists worldwide to build upon. The study was published in Nature Communications. And finally, are you ready to meet the reporters? The CAP is offering virtual media training sessions to help members deliver clear messages and handle tough questions with confidence. The training covers adapting your interview style for different audiences, crafting compelling sound bites, and staying composed under pressure.
