Marcus grew up knowing only his father's name. He built his whole identity on it. Then one day he got a DNA test — and the man he thought was his father wasn't. But someone else had been looking for Marcus for years. And the moment that man said "Son," Marcus knew. He couldn't explain it. Blood knows blood.

That's the question Jesus is pressing in John 8. Not do you know the right theology — but who is your father? The Pharisees claim Abraham. Then they claim God. They can't keep their story straight because they're not looking for truth. And Jesus cuts straight through to the real issue: spiritual fathers don't pass down blood. They pass down will. And these men are making their father's choices — silence the truth, protect the lie, crucify the Son of God.

The most dangerous place in the devil's operation is not the bar, not the street corner, not the drug house. It's the synagogue. His best candidates are the ones sitting under the most light.
