This expository sermon on 1 Thessalonians 2:17-18 brings forth the truth that the rapture BEFORE the start of the tribulation is a source of encouragement.

It's NOT encouraging to look for famines, pestilences, earthquakes, seals & vials. Instead, we look for a blessed hope!

The blessed hope is Christ coming for His church for a meeting in the air. The blessed hope is Christians leaving the earth, NOT Christ coming to the earth. The blessed hope in that the church will be in heaven, NOT in the tribulation.

This sermon will make a distinction between the 2nd coming of Christ to the earth and the Blessed Hope.

1 Thessalonians 2:17-20 (KJV) But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire. Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us. For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For ye are our glory and joy.
