Is work sucking the life out of you because it doesn’t align with your values?
Do you feel stuck between wanting a purposeful career and having to make money?
Afraid that if you invest in your regenerative ideas, it might all be a spectacular failure?

You are not alone! This podcast will empower you to make a significant positive contribution, quit corporate life, and find purposeful work that actually makes a difference in the world—work that brings you variety, flexibility, energy, and excitement!

I’m Alisa Murphy, a Regenerative Career and Business Mentor. My own career has been full of twists and turns but always led by purpose, and I’ve been the primary earner for my family along the way.

After selling a successful business in the climate tech sector, I was ready for a new chapter. I yearned for a deeper connection with the natural world but couldn’t see how to connect that with my skills or turn it into a viable business.

So, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery. I let myself play and trusted my curiosity. I spent as much time as possible in nature and worked hard to disentangle myself from the corporate conditioning that told me I was losing my way.

Through this process, I remembered who I was and reconnected with the things that truly mattered. I uncovered the most important threads of my life and finally understood how to weave them together into the joyful, satisfying work I do today—helping you take the same journey!

If you are ready to choose a purposeful career, want to build a business with genuine impact, and feel called to contribute to a regenerative future, you’re in the right place, my friend.

This podcast will show you how to build a solid transition plan and choose a viable niche so that you don’t have to stress about paying the bills. It will help you make decisions with confidence, find your focus, and navigate challenges with clarity.

18: Find Your Focus, Get Your Hands Dirty, Create Things That Matter (Regenerative Sticking Point with Cloé)

Many people working in corporate sustainability—like Cloé—feel deeply frustrated by the gap between their desire to create meaningful change and the reality of their work. They’re passionate about addressing challenges like climate change, fostering stronger communities, and reconnecting with nature, but often find themselves stuck, overthinking the “perfect” career path. The result? No action, and no impact. In this episode, I sit down with Cloé to explore how to break free from that paralysis and start making tangible progress toward a career that matters. Together, we discuss: Why searching for the “perfect option” can keep you stuck. How to shift from overthinking to taking small, actionable steps forward. The power of guiding questions like “What brings me joy?” and “What am I most likely to move forward with?” How small, hands-on experiments—like growing mushrooms in your shoe cupboard—can spark creativity, clarity, and confidence. Cloé’s journey highlights how aligning with your values—whether through community, nature, or impact-driven projects—can help you regain focus and build momentum. Progress doesn’t require perfection; sometimes, the best way forward is simply to get your hands dirty and see what grows. Whether you’re feeling stuck, doubting your impact, or unsure where to start, this episode will inspire you to take meaningful action toward a regenerative, sustainable career. 13: Why Corporate Sustainability Lights An Angry Fire In Me

Some conversations bring out a fire you didn’t even know you had. That’s exactly what happened when I spoke with Johan Jensen, host of the Spiritual Emergency Podcast. Johan encouraged me to dive deep into topics I often hesitate to touch on, yet are deeply relevant to regenerative career transitions. In today’s episode, I’m sharing a powerful extract from our conversation—the one that, in my own words, “lights an angry fire in me.” Johan and I tackled two big topics I’ve had an evolving relationship with: corporate sustainability and climate tech. As someone who spent over a decade devoted to climate tech, I’m now looking at the field through a new lens—one that reveals its limitations in driving systemic change and true transformation. I want to share this with you because I see so many people, with the best intentions, entering the sustainability space only to be swallowed by the corporate machine. I’ve lived the experience of believing in a sector’s power to create change, only to see it held back by a lack of systemic and intersectional awareness. In this episode, we’ll explore why sustainability without system change is simply a sticking plaster and why, if you’re moving into this space, it’s crucial to have your eyes wide open. Learn how to focus your efforts on creating meaningful change that truly makes an impact. Tune in to learn: Why sustainability without systems change is just a sticking plaster How my experience in climate tech has shaped my view on real transformation Key questions to ensure your work in sustainability aligns with what truly matters Listen to the full conversation with Johan here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/7x0QDPJUQhcYXEuKqbrFww?si=y0loND-qRhOI41P7Q27ipg Next steps: Book a Discovery Call (https://calendly.com/regenerativeworklife/discovery) to learn more about Regenerative Career Coaching Subscribe to my email (https://www.regenerativeworklife.com/subscribe) for weekly guidance to help you quit corporate and build a successful regenerative career. 12: Can I Pursue Creative, Community Projects While Still Paying the Mortgage? (Regenerative Sticking Point With Harrie)

What do you do when work feels unfulfilling, meaningful creative projects are calling you, but you still have to pay the mortgage? How do you nurture the seed of an idea and test whether it can grow into a viable regenerative business concept? This was the Sticking Point I explored with Harrie, in person, by a stream in my local woodland. Harrie came to me at a turning point, with a contract coming to an end and a series of great-on-paper jobs leaving her unfulfilled. She was yearning for more human interaction, greater immersion in nature, and a connection to her love of local projects—specifically sustainable land-workers. What Harrie lacked was the confidence and clarity to take those first steps. Together, we worked through these uncertainties, helping Harrie gain the clarity and confidence she needed to take her first steps. In our coaching conversation, we explore: Removing financial pressure from the early stages of a creative, regenerative project. Breaking down an ambitious project into manageable steps that bring you joy. The importance of believing in your idea and reminding yourself of the difference you want to make in the world. This episode is for you if you’re ready to reconnect with your creativity, pursue those “impossible” ideas, and build the foundations for a regenerative business. Come and sit by the stream with us, listen to the flowing water, and immerse yourself in the woodland and this inspirational conversation. Feeling stuck on your regenerative journey? Description
