Description

9 December is International Anti-Corruption Day.

What is corruption? What are the links between corruption and the arms trade? What are the financial and democratic costs of corruption?
Holly and Alice, both working for Stop Fuelling War, interview Andrew Feinstein, Executive Director of Shadow World Investigations. In this episode, we look at the impact of corruption on democracy, the role that transparency can play in tackling it, and the conditions that facilitate corruption. We identify the links between the defence
industry, the oil industry and the opacity of arms contracts. Andrew gives us suggestions on how to better inform the public, mobilise citizens and hold our leaders accountable for the use of public money, especially regarding the arms trade. An informative episode to deepen our understanding of the implications of arms sales and
exports on our daily lives!

This episode is available in English (original version) and also in French
(dubbed version).
