What happens when a lifelong atheist suddenly experiences spiritual awakening, oneness with Source, ego dissolution and a profound sense of divine consciousness?

In this episode of the Spiritual Teachers Podcast, Petr interviews Brad Sterner, co-founder of the Inokawa Foundation and Inokawa Conscious Awakening Center, about his extraordinary spiritual awakening journey, ayahuasca, consciousness, ego death, surrender and the path toward realizing our true nature.

Brad shares how he spent the first 38 years of his life as a materialist atheist, successfully pursuing the American Dream while feeling that something fundamental was missing. After years of searching, depression and suffering, he unexpectedly began meditating — and within minutes experienced beams of light, the dissolution of his identity and a profound realization of himself as Source itself. The experience lasted for weeks and completely transformed his understanding of reality.

The conversation dives deeply into the nature of spiritual awakening and enlightenment, including Brad's experience of the ego falling away, the "dark night of the soul," repeated awakening experiences, surrender, non-duality, unconditional love and the realization that heaven or Source may already be present beneath the conditioning of the human experience.

Brad also explains his work with ayahuasca ceremonies, including how plant medicine can serve as a tool for people seeking deeper healing and connection with Source. He discusses preparation, spiritual readiness, meditation, yoga, inner work, shadow work, forgiveness and why ayahuasca itself is a tool rather than the destination.
