In this episode of the Spiritual Teachers Podcast, Petr speaks with Damien Horton, Australian teacher, speaker, author of Limitless and The Personality Trap, about spiritual awakening, addiction recovery, near-death experience (NDE), depression, neuroplasticity, consciousness, healing, trauma, meditation, universal consciousness and personal transformation.Damien shares his extraordinary journey from experiencing spiritual insights as a child, to depression, addiction to ice (methamphetamine), hopelessness and a life-threatening car crash that led to a coma and profound near-death experience. He describes what happened during his coma, encountering another presence, experiencing an altered sense of time and returning with a radically different perspective on life and consciousness. The conversation explores the power of now, ego, the mind, limiting beliefs, mental patterns, awareness, emotional trauma, love, compassion, gratitude and reconnecting with the true self. Damien explains how becoming the observer of his own thoughts helped him change deeply ingrained patterns and transform his life.Damien also discusses neuroplasticity and brain change, drawing from his own physical and emotional healing experiences. He explains how the brain can create new neural pathways and how changing our internal patterns can influence the reality we experience.Other topics include Kundalini, spiritual teachers, meditation, healing, consciousness, self-awareness, personal responsibility, overcoming addiction, creating a new life, service to others and awakening to your true potential.Damien also shares the story behind his first book, Limitless, and his newest book, The Personality Trap, and how his experiences ultimately led him toward teaching, live events and helping others heal emotional trauma and step into their power.
