Description
Ever reacted to an email, a comment, or an interruption — and regretted it moments later?
👉 Under pressure, our reactions can become automatic. We respond too quickly, say something we didn't intend, or let frustration drive our decisions.
But there's a simple way to interrupt that pattern.
In Episode 09 of The 3-Minute Leader, discover the S.T.O.P. Protocol, a four-step mindfulness technique designed to help you pause, regulate your emotions, and respond with greater clarity and intention.
THE FOUR STEPS
S — STOP
Interrupt whatever you're about to say or do. Pause before acting on your first impulse.
T — TAKE A BREATH
Take three slow breaths through your nose: five seconds in, five seconds out. Use your breathing to anchor your attention.
O — OBSERVE
Turn your attention inward without judgment.
What am I telling myself?
What am I feeling?
Am I actually in danger?
Notice what's happening rather than immediately reacting to it.
P — PROCEED
Ask yourself:
What's the most appropriate response right now?
What do I actually need?
What choice aligns with what matters to me?
Then act with clarity and intention.
