Speaker #0happy halloween and hello to everyone out there welcome to movie goodness where we examine life through cinema here on the kb radio network i am your host kevin reed and yes it is that time of year again welcome to the halloween special of 2026 here at movie good You know, we love Halloween over here on this side of the fence. I would go as far to say this is my favorite time of the year. It's not so much for the holiday per se. It's what it signifies. It signifies that we're approaching the end of the year. The holiday season is upon us, and it's going to be nicer weather and all that other good stuff. It's just something. poignant about this time of year that makes it special for me and it all starts around halloween then when you add on the icing on the cake of horror movies horror television just horror rather it's slasher films psychological thrillers or body horror or you know there's so many sub-genres found footage and uh it's just a lot monster movies you love them you love them i don't care who you are uh how prudish you may be you everybody enjoys a good horror movie you know everybody loves a good scare you know to keep the heart pumping and today we're going to discuss a horror film or at least uh it's not a franchise per se but there's versions of this property and character that has been in the zeitgeist for 50 years to be more accurate 52 years if you want to go back to the novel when the novel was written in 1974 but in 1976 brian de palma adapted that novel and gave us carrie white yes carrie a character so complex the character that's so deep that filmmakers for 50 years have tried to make their own version of it even now we're going all the way to 2026 when mike flanagan gave us the eight part television show on prime video carry so for this halloween we're gonna go through all of the carry adaptations we're gonna discuss them for better or for worse because not all of them we're good but we're gonna talk about them nonetheless but before we get into those films let's discuss the book what it was all based on the novel by the great stephen king who wrote this in 1974 and this is his first novel believe it or not this was the first work of stephen king writing carrie and it's about a slightly overweight shy I... usually bullied character of uh uh i think it was was it caroline caroline white or carrie and she's being raised by her mother margaret who is an unstable religious fanatic who thinks everything everything is sinful and the book describes this odd incident of uh her establishing her uh telekinesis as a child you know before focusing on her as a teenager in high school and so when she gets her first period in in the shower at school she panics you know she freaks out and margaret never taught her you know about her period about her cycle and so she didn't know what was going on so you had uh the popular girls there at school you know the mean girls uh you had christine and sue who were the ring leaders and you had other girls to chime in or join in i should say with the chance of uh period you know and in taunting carrie and so a few of the girls even threw tampons at her which confused carrie even more because she didn't know what that was she thought she was dying she thought she was bleeding the dev, you know? And so the gym teacher... uh she punishes the girls for a week of detention and suspend chris who started the whole fiasco when she refused to comply with the detention and so the gym teacher also sent carrie home with her mother believing carrie should you know be comforted by her child you know by her mother i should say and ask her mother why she never taught her about a period you know this is something that young girls should should know about uh let me let me pause right there let me tell you this do you know the one thing that feared that just struck fear in me when my girls were younger uh me and my wife we work different schedules she got off after i got off so when i was at home with the girls i'll be at home with the girls after i got off of work for about two hours just being the girls and my biggest fear was inside of that two-hour window that they would have their cycle and it would freak me out and i was scared to death because i didn't want to freak out which would cause them to freak out you know what i'm saying so uh thankfully it didn't happen at least they didn't tell me of course they were taught so that that that went a long way so it could have happened when i was there but they didn't tell me that's why i love my children so much But that was a fear, man. That was a big fear of mine. I did not want to be by myself here having to teach or show my, because I'm going to show them. I can't show you how to use this stuff. I have no idea. I am in the blind. I was just like Kerry. I don't know what to do. I probably would have threw something at them. I don't know. It was just a fear of mine. But we're past that now. They're grown now. that Thankfully, I dodged that bullet. And so back to the book here, Margaret, she locks Carrie in the, I think they call it the praying closet. And that's where she locked her in because Margaret believed that periods were a symbol of sexual sin on Carrie's part. So she thought that Carrie. hey went out there and did the boom shum that's why she was bleeding and so that was all that's the that's the mindset and look the one thing about this book and the movies that depict this character of margaret so well because that's a real person i'm pretty sure you know a margaret i'm more than certain you ran across a super hyper religious person that just takes it way too far way too far and margaret is that person here uh however she lets carrie out much earlier than she normally would and carrie believes it's because her mother knows that carrie has become aware of her own powers and so meanwhile chris is furious about being suspended and she decides to take revenge on carrie and on the flip side of that suit she feels bad about what you know participating in this incident and wants to apologize but she's too nervous to apologize to her so she tells her boyfriend tommy to ask carrie the prom noting that carrie has a crush on him as well uh like half of the girls in the school did because he's the dreamboat he is the uh he's the uh uh how i describe him well hey dreamboat i think that that aptly describes anyway uh carrie she originally thinks that it's an invitation uh to set her up to be tricked or whatever and but tommy tells her like no you know this is this is that's not it so carrie realized that his invitation is genuine and she accepts it and so she then sews herself a beautiful white dress and they go to prom meanwhile Chris and her boyfriend, Billy, they collect pig's blood in a bucket and hang it over the auditorium stage. And so Chris employs his friend Tina or her friend Tina to make fake, what you call it, a fake prom queen ballots with Carrie's name on them so that she will. be called up on stage because she won the prom queen thing where the blood will be dumped on carrie and humiliate her and so on prom night megan she initially forbids carrie from attending the prom claiming that tommy and the others are gonna laugh at her and carrie is tired of her mother's shenanigans and tired of her controlling her life and she uses her power to shove her mother into the praying closet and so at the prom the blood is dumped on carrie as planned but the process of the blood being dumped on her it falls and it hits tommy in the head and it kills him and so carrie at first she flees in sadness but she is overtaken by rage and she locks the gymnasium doors and uses her powers and set the room on fire and she continues to wreak havoc on the scene killing multiple students and teachers and uh she's leaving a path of destruction in the wake of the city as she returns home where margaret you tells carrie that she you know was conceived in a bizarre incident involving a sexual assault and so margaret then comes to the conclusion that carrie's powers come from the devil himself some satan so she stabs her with a knife so carrie you know she used her telekinesis to stop margaret's heart just to you know to try to save herself you But she immediately regrets it, and it was too late. The damage was done. Carrie attempts to flee, but she is bleeding so heavily from the stab wound that she could barely walk. And Sue finds Carrie, and after a brief telepathic connection, Carrie forgives Sue soon after Carrie dies, crying out to her mother. And that's how the book ends. Now, I... read the book after i seen the 1976 film because i was so curious about it you know i i enjoyed that film so much and around that time in the early mid 80s you know or late 80s i think it was when i read it but uh you know stephen keen was so prominent around that time you got so many stephen keen adaptations i started reading uh some of stephen keen's uh work you know, because I'm like, why do they keep making his movies? Why do they keep adapting these books or these stories, you know? And so I went back to start reading them. But when I read Carrie, after the fact, I was a little thrown off, you know, because that was like my first experience of taking liberties with source material. Because if you would have asked me before I read the book. uh how did the book end i would have told you how the 1976 film end and and i would have been dead wrong now it was similar but not so much but it it is it is uh uh it's a tough read you know that's just the cliff notes version of it of course but man it's a tough read and we all know a carry you know and in in some cases there's some of you who listen and who were a carry Yeah, you probably didn't have the telekinesis, but it was still rough for you in high school and dealing with bullying and whatnot. And nowadays, it's even worse because you got online bullying. It doesn't stop when the bell rings at school and you get on the bus to go home. It continues when you get home. In some cases, worse. And so it's even worse now, but it's such a prevalent story. story because this has been going on since the beginning of the time because kids are idiots but we were idiots as kids you know we did some stupid stuff uh that i know a lot of us regret you know and it's just sad that people went through so much these kids went through so much in high school due to immaturity you know and and sadly even worse there are folks out there There are folks out there who still act like they act in high school 30, 40 years later. And God help those people. So that is the novel. That's what is the foundation to all of this 50 years of Carrie. And it all started in 1976. 1976, Brian De Palma, who went on to have a storied career. I don't understand the hate with Brian De Palma that I see. You know, a lot of people all of a sudden stop liking the movies he made. I love Brian De Palma films. The Untouchables. the first mission impossible film scarface carlito's way i mean the dude the dude has he has an awesome filmography i don't care what nobody say but it all started here with this supernatural horror film carrie which was an adaptation of the stephen king novel and sissy uh starred in this film as carrie wright here's here's some movie trivia Good. knowledge that you might can use for your trivia night in case you don't know sissy spacek wasn't the first choice she wasn't the initial choice to play carrie wright in this film it was actually ironically carrie fisher who was set to star as carrie white but she went on to star in a little independent film called Star Wars as Princess Leia. But here's the real trivia. Here's the real barn burner of it all. Sissy Spacek was initially cast as Princess Leia in Star Wars. I forgot the reason why they end up switching roles. Because these were filmed around the same time. But I forgot how they end up switching roles. But they switched them. And honestly, I think the world is better for it. not to say that either actress would have done a bad job in the other's role i think they both would have nailed it either way you know but it's just something about this is their role you know uh carrie fisher is princess leia she she's princess leia you know and the same thing here and we've got multiple adaptations of carrie but for me for me personally Thank you. sissy spacic is carrie white she is the definitive carrie right now the one thing off the bat that you noticed about it they already changed up what you what you got out of the novel in the novel carrie was a little a little little husky you know a little overweight and but sissy spacic in this movie if she was 80 pounds soaking wet that's that's giving her a lot she was Bye. and every actors who played carrie after this was tiny nobody was overweight you know hollywood in their in their stigma that it's stupid but regardless as far as the acting is concerned sissy space it was was awesome alone alone for the ride here you had piper laurie she played margaret here carrie's mother uh amy irvin nancy allen uh william kitt who went on to be uh uh the world's what was it the world's greatest hero or something like that i forgot the name of that show uh and john travolta yes he played billy in this movie if i'm not mistaken the movie was released on november the 3rd 1976 yes almost 50 years ago uh in a few days 50 years ago that this movie came out and it still holds up in my humble opinion this is one of the best horror films of all time one of the greatest horror films of all time it it is that good i love the you know they don't make horror movies like this no more they don't make movies where you actually felt terror and in the in the situation especially the climax at the end and i didn't say this to start off the show of course we're talking spoilers you know I mean, come on. Like I said, it's 50 years old. If you haven't seen, they all end the same. So if you haven't seen any of the Carys, just look, go back, watch them, and then come back. But yeah, especially at the end of this film, the scene with the pig's blood, that has been talked about for years. I remember my mom talking about that. If a mom isn't like a horror person. at all it's only a couple of horror films i have ever heard my mom talk about the birds and carrie those are the only two horror films that my mom ever discussed with me other than that she ain't with it that ain't her thing but carrie is something about carrie carrie just resonated with everybody and the plea pig blood scene And her just flashing out, crashing out, and just exacting vengeance in a woman's wrath on that school and the town was so beautiful. And the way that Brian De Palma shot this film, the movie opens up with the shower scene, the period scene, you know, when she didn't know what was going on. And you had all of these girls just, ah. Man, boy, I tell you, bro, I hate seeing bully. I hate bullies. Hate them. I can't stand a bully. And it was disgusting. It was disgusting what they did to that girl. And in spite of that, she still tried to hold on. She still tried to be kind and to no avail. You know what I'm saying? But yeah, it was it was brutal what they were doing to her. And. in that shower and um it all came back to bite him unfortunately great horror film i think it was beautifully directed wonderfully acted and uh one of the better adaptations of anything you know it it really stuck to the novel it didn't deviate too much there were some changes they the way that the movie ended there was a slight change you know yes carrie and margaret did die at the end of this film but not in the way they died in the novel you know but it still worked it worked it worked for the story i can live with changes that works for the story and this movie really did pull it off it was made on a 1.8 million dollar budget and it ended up grossing 33.8 million dollars when it was all said and done at that year's academy Awards. it was nominated for two academy awards yeah believe it or not uh both for acting best actress for sissy spacek uh she was nominated unfortunately did not win and also for best supporting actress for piper laurie who played margaret her mother uh she was nominated but did not win but hey to say that they got nominated was awesome within itself Carrie from 1976 gets a letter grade of an A. Yeah, it is a phenomenal horror film. Phenomenal horror film. I recommend it for everybody. Anybody, especially if you have teenagers. Teenage girls in particular. If you have teenage daughters, this is the movie to show them. You know, not to be. What not to be? You know, who not to hang out with? Because hanging out... where certain people get you caught up in all type of foolishness and that's that's basically uh uh the uh arc for old christine there so we move on to the next adaptation from carrie and this believe it or not was a sequel and a sequel and we didn't get this sequel till 1999 now at one point during the preparation for this show I wasn't going to talk about this movie because it's bad. It's a bad movie. There's no other way to describe it. It's a bad movie. It's not good. It is definitely not a worthy successor to a classic, you know, but I mean, it is the sequel. I don't think it was initially meant to be the sequel to Carrie. I think they actually. changed it to carry two and i think in post-production if i remember the story correctly but they should have left it alone they really should have left this alone the rage carry two came out in 1999 it's a supernatural horror film directed by kat shea and it stars emily bird in her film debut and i don't think i've seen her in anything else but this if i'm not mistaken but it also stars jason london and uh amy irvin returned uh to reprise her role from the first carry and in this film what makes it a sequel and you may how they make a sequel to a movie that is well over 20 years old this is how they tried to explain this away uh it follows Rachel. who is the younger half-sister of Carrie Wright. After suffering with telekinesis, she finds that her best friend, Lisa, suicide was spawned by a group of popular male... classmates who exploited her for sexual gain now it's 1999 so that was par for the course but that that's what how they explained it and made it a carrie sequel she's the half sister of carrie right keep in mind this is 23 years later so take that with what take that what you will i'm not gonna i'm not gonna talk much on it because i didn't re-watch it I did not re-watch it for this show because I refused to go back and watch it. I watched everything else we discussed today, but I just refused to go back. I hated this movie so much when it came out. So much. Even if it wasn't a part of Carrie, it still was just a bad movie. It was a late 90s, early 2000s, right there in that little gap there, right before we crossed over into the 2000s. It was right... there in that style of film the visual effects is bad it is i know it don't hold up now because it didn't hold up in 1999 it's just not good it's not good at all uh the poor actress who played uh rachel she wasn't bad memory sir she wasn't bad it wasn't her it was just a bad movie it was poorly written, you know, and I I think that's because they changed everything up to try to make a Carrie movie. And instead of sticking to their initial plans of I think it was first called The Curse, if I'm not mistaken, and they just changed it up. But any who's. Yeah, I'm not even going to grade it. But that is the that is the sequel that nobody asked for to carry the rage. carry two. we move on to 2013 and i was super super excited for this adaptation the reason why is because i was i'm a big fan of chloe grace morett i loved her since um believe it or not the amityville horror remake with ryan reynolds that was the movie was whatever But she played the youngest child, and she was really good. But when she was in Kick-Ass as Hit-Girl, that was it for me. I was like, I love her. I love her. I'll watch anything she's in. And when they announced that they were going to do a Carrie remake and Chloe Grace Moretz is going to be Carrie White, I said, yes, perfect casting. want to see this i can't wait i cannot wait and so in 2013 we got the supernatural horror film directed by kimberly pierce carrie and this was the third adaptation and a remake of the 1976 adaptation of stephen king's novel starring chloe grace moretz as carrie white you also had julianne more as Margaret White. i was a little let down i was a little let down with this carry remake i i thought it wasn't bad i know a lot of people poo-pooing on today you know these days but it wasn't that bad it was definitely better than the carry 2 crap you know it was it was watchable it's still watchable i watched it like i said earlier re-watched it for this show and it wasn't bad you know uh chloe grace moretz i think she did excellent the real star here in this film was uh julianne moore she really dove into the role of margaret that's a meaty meaty role and that you have to have a strong margaret in order for carrie to work and it it worked for me the problem with the film was the screenplay and the uh the direction that that was the two issues here i don't think this was directed strongly uh kimberly pierce had i didn't see much of her work you know prior to this i think she did uh she did uh oh my god what the movie with hillary shrink she won an academy award for it uh boys don't cry it that was fine you know because that was a small independent movie basically but aside from that you know this big block blockbuster film, this horror franchise that's adored by millions, you need to bring an A-game and tell a story. And you couldn't tell a story that was laid out. The story was laid out. And it just did not land. You had really good actors involved. You had everything at your disposal, a real big budget. But I think what happened, you lost the spirit of the work. The initial work. Not the 1976 film, but the 1974 novel from Stephen King. You lost the plot. And that's where... this movie went wrong it was doing good you know it was doing good it seemed like it was kind of staying on track yeah they took liberties here and there i mean of course it's it at this point it was about 40 years since the last film so you okay you're gonna make changes you're gonna it's gonna be some changes to kind of update it but it no things they should have updated you didn't And the things that you didn't update, you did. I mean, you know, vice versa. Don't mind me. But it just wasn't an original thought placed into this. And it needed that. If you're going to update something, it has to have some originality in it. It did not have it. Carrie from 2013 gets a letter grade of a C minus. Yeah. could have been better should have been better unfortunately it missed the mark for me all right there were two that was what that was it for the theatricals now there were two television adaptations of carrie one of which we're going to discuss at the end because it's so recent so fresh so clean but before we get to that there was a tv movie that came out in 2002 and i had no idea this existed i did not know until i was prepping for this show uh about two weeks ago and i'm like wait uh 2002 carrie at first i was like oh no no no that the one with chloe grace moretz as i said that that wasn't 2002 it did i was i kept looking for it. I couldn't find it. I finally found it on Tubi. I think I watched it on. And I'm like, oh, man, I have never heard of this movie. I did not know this existed. But in 2002, we got the TV movie version, The Reimagining of Carrie, which was originally released on NBC. This was on national TV. This was on regular TV. And it still slipped through the cracks with me. I did. I don't know how I missed this, but whatever, whatever. The movie was directed by David Carson. It is starred Angela Betts as Carrie White. And once again, it tells the story of a shy girl who was harassed by classmates, disappears in a series of flashbacks, reveal what has happened to her. uh this was a completely different take than what we got uh like the friends well from any version to be honest with you the way they told this story was odd now granted i'm watching it in 2026 so it it was kind of weird in the way they told the story they told it through flashbacks a lot and I'm not a big fan of that. So it kind of took me out when they were doing that. I feel you should tell a linear story, you know, beginning, middle and end. I don't need to keep going back and forth. It throws me off. I'm not the sharpest tool in the drawer. So, you know, you got to kind of hold my hand a lot. And this didn't do that. Now, with that being said, for a TV movie on regular television. it was good you know if you think in the mindset of a theatrical release or even on a streaming service you're going to be upset if you haven't watched this movie and you want to go back and watch it's not going to have that tone keep in mind it was on n b c so it is it is toned down to negative 11 it is not there's no Go. gore and blood and all that, even though these movies really don't have that. But you know what I'm saying. It's not... When she unleashed her rage, it doesn't have that same pop, you know, because it's on regular TV. But as far as the story itself, it was nice. You know, it stayed true. It didn't really deviate from what we know and love about this character, about the source, you know, in regards of the source material. What hurts this movie is the poor special effects. They had no budget, obviously. You know, this. this this could have been good if they would have put a little more money into it but this was this was not good the special effects was bad the atmosphere didn't really match a horror it felt like a teen drama it felt like something you would see on the cw or something like that it it just did not capture the carrie spirit and it went too long it went on it this movie this movie this movie i don't know it felt like it was about well i would imagine it was you know with commercials and all this here it probably was like three or four hours or something like that i but it when you take all that away which the version i watched it was it still felt like it was three hours it was long and it didn't have to be these movies don't have to be that that's I was skeptical about the show. that was on prime video i was like how are you going to stretch this out for eight episodes but no i did not i did not really enjoy this 2002 version but you know it is what it is it exists the i will say this the one other positive i would give it is the performances you know uh angela betts i think she did it's pretty good as carrie white uh patricia carson as margaret she knocked it out the park i'm safe to say i guess i could spoil it now i have yet to see a bad margaret performance i haven't seen a bad margaret performance all of them were great they cast that role perfectly and all of the carries to be honest with you. Yeah, Sissy Spacek, Chloe Grace Moretz, and angela betts i think they did great even though the movies may not have been all that great carrie the television version from 2000 2002 gets a letter grade of a c minus yeah it was it was what it was all right that leads us to what we all came here for that is the prime video Mike flanagan produced written and he even directed a few episodes of the eighth episode series carrie in this series you have summer h howell starring as carrie white also you have samantha slong amber mid thunder and matthew lard uh lawler in this show and this this show was the best carry i've seen and it also made me the most upset at the same time i love this show i love mike flanagan mike flanagan you know uh the haunting of blair manor aside yeah i i liked almost every show he has put together movies and tv shows to be honest which I love. Gerald's Game. If you ever saw that, that is an awesome movie. The movie takes place with a woman just tied to a bed the entire movie. And gotta find a way to get out because the husband dropped dead of a heart attack and she's tied to a bed. It was a good really, really good movie. Hush was a good movie. The Haunting of Hill House was phenomenal. I love that show. That is the only Netflix show. No, that's a lie. No, that's a lie. But that is the one show that I rewatched, I think, two years in a row for Halloween. I think I rewatched that show every year for about two to three years until Midnight Mass came out. and that's when I switched over but I loved it so much I didn't too much care for the haunting of Blair Manor It didn't have that same pop, but the Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass was great. The fall of the House of Usher was good. Can't wait for his take on the Exorcist that comes out next year. I'm a big fan of his. And so with him doing yet another Stephen King adaptation with Carrie. oh man sign me up and okay you're gonna do a tv show like i said a little while ago i was still a little curious how you're gonna scratch this out for eight episodes and and keep me engaged you know with the carrie character and everything else that's going on and updated for 2026 can he pull it off well he's an exceptional writer he's a exceptional filmmaker i i didn't doubt that but you that's going to be tough for this particular property this was phenomenal this was awesome this is one of the best shows to come out in 2026 the actress who plays carrie white uh summer howell my god awesome awesome performance i i think she gave one of the better performances as carrie right. honestly now granted she had more room to work she had a lot more room to work as as per a sissy spacing but this was this was a phenomenal performance that you couldn't help but get behind her character you know she she was such a sweet and innocent version all of them had that sweet and innocence but they still played it with a level of you know Thank you. just they just waiting for that spark to break and you never know with summer the way she plays carrie it always looked like she's even killed you know like she's just trying to just be a decent human being something that is virtually impossible in 2026 but she she really did i mean you never knew when she was gonna snap and when she eventually does and That's why it was such an, you know, it had such an impact. Once again, Samantha Sloan, who plays Margaret here, killed it, She was in another Mike Flanagan. I think it was. Wait, wait, wait. I'm tripping. She was in all of Mike Flanagan's stuff because I know she was in House of Us. I know she was in. Hill House. Yeah, she was in all it. Midnight Mass. Yeah, she was in all. She's a Mike Flanagan MVP, along with a few other characters or actors on the show that pop up that are familiar faces if you watch anything from Mike Flanagan. But they all do an excellent job. But Samantha, oh, God. If she don't get nominated for an Emmy for this portrayal of Margaret White, there needs to be a boy cock that this is this is one of the best portrayals of that character you know because believe it or not i actually felt sympathy for you actually feel something for margaret as opposed of her just being this ultra religious extremist that you know oh the devil the devil is with this and that now granted that's there you you know she is she is over over religious if that's a thing definitely over protective but she brings something different to the role that that's makes you makes you kind of feel some sympathy for but at the same time she is an evil person she is an evil individual and they do not hold back on that either here's my problems with the show i didn't like how it ended because for the first time even though we i have problems with quite a few of these adaptations at least they stayed true with how the story ended this didn't at all spoilers of course carrie lives at the end she lives which isn't a shock because they already announced a season two to carry. So... There's that and the addition of this new I don't know X-Men super telekinesis team that's around the world. I don't know. I don't know what direction they're going in, but I don't really care for it. You know, I didn't. Now, when season two comes out, am I going to watch it? Absolutely, I'm going to watch it. But I did not like it. I didn't like it. I did not like it. Now, up to the end. up to the end this was great every episode was phenomenal the acting here all of the actors you know the teenagers uh which i doubt are actual teenagers they they did a phenomenal job uh matthew lillard always struggled to get that out he he is great as the principal uh on this show but the scene i didn't expect to hit me emotionally was the scene you at the prom when when the blood got dumped on her and you know she's standing there right before she's about to unleash the beast i was i called myself getting emotional you know i was that's how good the writing was up to that point i was i was really caught up and feeling her at this moment you know because everybody was affected everybody in that class i mean in that school was affected by what was going on with Carrie. And this was the conchendo. This was the climax of that. This is where the scrawl broke the camel's back. And it was shot so wonderfully. It was brutal as it needed to be. Everything worked. And as soon as she got back to the house, everything with her mother was everything that we remember from previous films. and then it went off the rails a little bit for me you know because they survived the house collapse and we find out that margaret has powers that she has suppressed her entire life and in the book it was carrie that stopped margaret heart but here on the show it was another telepath or telekinesis that stopped her heart you know from this organization and i'm like really that defeats the point that defeats the whole point of carrie's story of her arc you know i did not like that and look will it age better in time probably will it be uh explained away a little better and i'll accept it in season two probably So I'll wait to bash it i just didn't want it to end like that i wanted it to be the traditional end to this story but maybe they have a better story that that they're willing to tell here and i'm not mad at that so i'm gonna keep i'm gonna keep my uh emotions in check before i just go ham on them but this was a phenomenal show nonetheless there were definitely more good than negatives and that was my only negative was literally out of out of eight episodes it was the last 10 minutes that was it that was it the rest of it was phenomenal carrie which is currently available on prime video gets a letter grade of an a minus yeah good job by mike flanagan just wish the ending was a little better any who's carrie ladies and gentlemen Stephen King's creation his first novel his first piece of literature is 50 years old 50 and 50 years we have gotten remakes unwanted sequels tv movies and a television show just from this little girl who people decide to bully and she fights back in a telekinesis way any who's everybody once again happy halloween be safe be uh uh have fun don't do anything crazy as always subscribe to the kbradionetwork.com website if you haven't already there you can be notified of new episodes dropping on the channel as well as previous episodes you can go back and listen to don't forget about youtube subscribe to the kb radio network channel and like this video if you don't mind don't forget about the five stars the reviews and sharing this show if you're listening on apple podcast spotify iheart radio wherever you are currently listening to movie goodness here on the kb radio network everybody thank you for joining me as we went over the 50 year history of stephen king's carrie want you all to know that i love you continue to love everyone and until we speak again You all be blessed.
