  well hello ladies and gentlemen welcome to movie goodness where we examine life through cinema here on the kb radio network i am your host kevin reed and today is a different movie goodness episode how how is it different well we're not going to talk about movies today uh i don't have a movie to go with this particular topic today um this is just something that i've I just wanted to talk about because it's a serious serious topic you know when we when we talk about uh allegations of sexual assault or rape and stuff like that you know I don't want to make light of it I don't want to uh uh I guess break the levity by talking about a movie and having a good time talking about movies you know I want to take this subject seriously and so I'm I'm gonna fargo the movie review before this episode but uh this isn't going to be a doom and gloom one either you know because i i have my thoughts on this particular situation and this is regarding uh nfl hall of famer uh tv personality sports personality uh popular podcast host in his own right mr shannon sharp uh shea onk whatever you want to call him uh he he has found himself in some deep deep doo-doo um as of late and where he finds himself the subject of a sexual assault civil suit and it's it's a weird case and it's one of those it's one of these things that when you really sit back and think about it it puts you in the frame of mind like who do you believe And I hate being put in that position, you know, because it's not fair. It's not fair to the accuser and it's not fair to the accused, you know. It's because you don't know. You don't know the real story. You don't know the truth firsthand. You can only go off of assumptions and the little information that you do have. And if you end up picking a side. and decide you pick is wrong, now you're looking like an idiot, you know, and you have nothing to do with the situation. And that's why I hate it. And that's why I don't fall for the banana in the tailpipe unless we get all of the information. I have a saying that I use. I'm not going to make a hundred dollar decision on five dollars worth of information, you know, so we have to get all of the information and before we come to a conclusion of who's guilty, who's innocent, or whatever, whatever. So I'm going to keep my opinion on who's right and who's wrong to myself. I'm not going to come out here and say, oh, man, this is BS here and all this here. But, you know, I will point out as we go over these accusations, I will point out some plot holes, if you will. in this case but it's sad it's really sad no matter what the outcome is it's sad because lives and careers are forever changed from this moment on no matter what happens in the outcome of this case no matter what happens in the outcome of the uh uh countersuit and all this here and so let's go over what took place well first and foremost let's go back Let's go back before we get to this particular case. Shannon Sharp. This isn't Shannon Sharp's first run-in with national news. You know, it's not even a second. You could go back to his time on Undisputed, the FS1 show that he co-hosts with Skip Bayless, and all of their epic run-ins. I love that show, you know, because it was a true debate show. These were two sports personalities who saw things vastly different, and that made for good television, their back and forth. I thought it was a real good show. Well, that ended tragically when, you know, the two really bumped heads, you know? They really could not work together at a certain point. And so Shannon Sharp left the show, which caused me to leave the show as a watcher, as a viewer, because I enjoyed their back and forth. It wasn't because I was picking a side there between Shannon and Skip. It was, you know, I just like the dynamic. And I know that couldn't be matched no matter who was brought in to replace Shannon Sharp. And it did. And the show only lasted like a year after that. you know they brought in some other people but it just didn't have that same magic so the show end up going to the wayside you know skip bayless is gone and all this other stuff and so it was that was that and and what really kicked that off was skip um uh i forgot i forgot exactly what was said but it involved tom brady you know skip bayless is a tom brady lover and Shannon Sharp was kind of talking bad about him. You know, like he isn't, you know, Jesus Christ. You know, he isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread, basically. And Skip Bayless went off and, you know, pretty much downplayed Shannon Sharp's career and whatnot, and he took offense to it. And I can understand because Shannon Sharp worked hard at being a tight end in the NFL. He won multiple Super Bowls in the NFL. He's a Hall of Famer in the NFL. So he had built his career to be as good as he is. He's one of the greatest tight ends to ever play the game. So to be disrespected in his eyes like that just didn't work. The reason I go all the way back to that, from that moment on, from the demise of Undisputed, That's when it started to go downhill, I feel, for Shannon Sharp, because a lot of things started to take place. You know, there was the epic, there was the epic sex tape that leaked on Instagram Live in September of last year, September 11th to be exact, of 2024. And I don't know how that even happened. I don't know how how can you accidentally go live on Instagram while doing the boom shroom with some woman. I have never never heard of that in my life. Not on accident that he claims it happened. For those of you who are not in the Instagram universe, you know how many steps you have to go through on that app in order to go live? You have to press several buttons. to get the live going and so it made no sense that it accidentally happened now why was it done on purpose i don't know it that doesn't make sense either but the whole situation was crazy but that was kind of brushed under the rug uh shannon sharp's podcast club shayshay popular podcast i listened to it you know he has some awesome guests on his show and he gets a lot of his guests to open up to a lot of things that you haven't heard in uh your standard interviews with you know like the the infamous cat williams interview he had that took i mean just owned the uh the uh uh viral spear uh the beginning of last year uh he had a great interview with monique on there he had a good interview with John Cena if you haven't seen that one just recently he had a real good one with uh Damon Wayans on there I mean everybody who comes on his show is a I mean is a really good interview and I often wondered how does he get these people to open up so freely with him you know but he's it was his personality I suppose well we fast forward a little bit to just this past week i don't know what day exactly this took place but shannon sharp has been accused of sexual assault in a uh nevada lawsuit the lawsuit was brought by a woman who alleged that shannon sharp used his fame to manipulate control uh and violate her uh the accuser who was 19 at the time she met shannon sharp in uh 2023 three She says in the lawsuit filed that the pair had a nearly two year relationship, during which time Shannon Sharp was aggressive and allegedly raped her. Shannon Sharp has denied these accusations and said he was a target of a shakedown. The suit seeks more than $50 million in compensation and punitive damages. According to the lawsuit, the woman met Shannon Sharp currently at the age of 56 years old in a Los Angeles gym and had a rocky, concentral... relationship with one another after many months of manipulating and controlling controlling planet a woman more than 30 years younger than he uh and repeatedly threatened to brutally choke and violently slap her shannon sharp refused to accept the answer no and raped the planet despite her sobbing and repeatedly screaming no uh this is what she alleges in the lawsuit also alleged in the lawsuit that uh the woman accuses shannon sharp of raping her just as recently as january of this year in addition she alleged in the suit that shannon sharp insisted on recording some of those sexual encounters sometime without her consent or knowledge shared the videos with his friends and associates Just to set up the rest of this, these accusations and the rest of this story, Shannon Sharp has 4 million subscribers to his podcast, the Club Shea Shea podcast, and is reported in negotiations on a $100 million deal for his network of shows. And so that's just to put into perspective why that... amount is so large on this lawsuit. But in a video released by Shannon Sharp on Instagram, I think it was Tuesday or Wednesday of this week, whenever it was, he said, this is a shakedown. That's his way of addressing the lawsuit. He went on to say, I'm going to be open, transparent and defend myself because this isn't. right shannon sharp then accused the woman's lawyer tony biz uh bisbee of filing a fraudulent lawsuit and threatening to sue for defamation mr bisbee is no stranger of going after rich black men yeah i think he makes a career out of it um he he has uh in the past well not in the has I think still currently He's representing a plaintiff who accused Jay-Z of misconduct and ultimately resigned her, rescinded her accusations. And this all stemmed from the Diddy situation that's going on. He also worked with several female massage therapists in that big scandal, if you will, against. NFL player Deshaun Watson for sexual assault. So there's that. Shannon Sharp went on to say in his statement, I believe he's going to release a 30 second clip of a sex tape that tries to make me look guilty and play into every stereotype you can possibly imagine. That video should actually be 10 minutes or so. To continue his quote, he said, Hey, Tony, instead of releasing your edit. put the whole video out i don't have it and i would my or i would myself last year shannon sharp live screamed that audio from his uh what what should i say intimate encounter that we talked about uh a little while ago and millions of his followers on instagram and later uh apologized saying he had mistakenly turned on the app's live feature which i still i I just can't believe that. But now the woman in question, I don't have her name in front of me. I chose not to look up her name and speak on her name. But it was reported that this is a OnlyFans. She works, well, not works for OnlyFans, but she has an OnlyFans page, and that's how she makes her living, you know. So do that with what you will. But that still doesn't excuse. anything if these accusations are true it doesn't matter what she do before living and this is uh this ain't good you know so um to continue on with the this current lawsuit uh it stated that shannon sharp's behavior demonstrates that he believed the planning plaintiff to be a personal property possession and owned by him uh he also believed that the laws did not apply to him and that he could take what he wanted and that no one could or would stop him he was and is wrong that is a quote from this lawsuit according to lenny uh yeah lenny davis who is shannon sharp's attorney he released a statement uh the consensual sex between shannon sharp and his accuser continued until january the 2nd it also includes several examples of sexual explicit test mix messages allegedly sent by the accuser to Sharp. The evidence paints a clear picture. This was a consensual adult relationship that included role play, sexual language, and fantasy scenarios explicitly requested by the accuser, according to Lennie Davis, Shannon Sharp's attorney. So after all of that, we come to today. uh shannon sharp has said that he is temporarily taking time away from his role on espn after being sued for assault sexual assault battery and sexual battery um in case i did skip over it that's my mistake but shannon sharp after he had left undisputed on fs1 he went over to espn to contribute on first take with stephen a smith So that's where he has been ever since then. But now he has stepped away. But there's other reports that say that ESPN let him go. So we don't know which is which, but we do know he's not on the show as of now, at least until all of this has been straightened out. He, of course, denies the accusations I have said before. And along with his statement that he released on Instagram the other day, He also announced that he will be filing a countersuit for $50 million for defamation. And so that's where we stand currently with this situation. Here's my thoughts. I know I said in the beginning that I'm not going to pass judgment or pick a side or anything like that, and I'm still not. But this is how I look at the situation from the information that has been laid out in front of me. Now, do I believe Shannon Sharp raped this young lady? No, no. I think they were kinky. They were freaky. And it got real. You know, it's just one of those things. Because the text messages, which I chose not to read on the show, it shows that. old girl was not she was not your wholesome young christian virgin um and so it's not like she's uh innocent here she she was into some some stuff here uh there was text messages that said that or asked him to choke her you know while they were having sex you know she wanted to be choked while having sex so that could coronate with the choking uh aspect of the phone call now the phone call that was recorded uh yeah you can take that as shannon sharp being pretty forceful with her but you could also take that as are they role playing right now because he doesn't sound very convicted and what he would say if you listen to it and if you've been listening to shannon sharp for many years like i have You can tell that that just wasn't Shannon Sharp. Now, granted, TV Shannon Sharp, podcast Shannon Sharp isn't real life Shannon Sharp. There's different, you know, there's a difference. But it just didn't sound right. You know what I'm saying? It didn't sound like somebody who wanted to choke you. It sounded different. And it could have been a role play. Could have been. Like I said, allegedly, I don't know. And so there's that. There's the... Big, big elephant in the room that's just sitting on top of my chest right here to where as my mind is like racing. different direction this is a lawsuit this is a civil suit that alleges battery sexual battery sexual assault rape there's no police report there's no 9-1-1 calls there's no filing of charges why why are we going straight to the civil suit see when I see stuff like that That's when I start to say, I don't think this is a factual accusation. And if that's the case, that is sad. Out of all the things you can accuse anybody of, it don't have to be Shannon Sharp. It can be a normal Joe Blow. It could be me, who will never have $50 million in his lifetime. It could be anybody. Joe Blow. It's sad because there are real rape victims out there. There are real sexual assault victims out there that don't get the help, that don't get assistance, who are struggling day to day, you know? And you're around here making these false accusations, allegedly making these false accusations that just pushes back all of those women. who have been uh uh you know just thrown to the side for making accusations or struggling to make accusations because of the stigma that comes with it and it's sad and it hurts my heart because as a father of two daughters as a husband to a wife as you know a son to a mother and a brother to sisters you know being around women my whole life yeah it really does a affect me it really bothers me when it comes to situations like this because what if it happened to one of my loved ones one of my female loved ones and you know it's they're scared to make a a claim or or you know call the police or report it or something to that effect because of what they're going to be looked upon as if they make these accusations and That shouldn't be. What kind of world we live in? Whereas the victim in a situation is the one who performed the act, you know, who violated, the violator in this situation. They're the victim. We are in crazy times, and this has been going on forever. So, yeah, but it's sad if it's true. if well i should say if it's false what she is reporting it is sad you know but either way like i said before there's no good that's going to come out of this either way no matter how you slice it this is a bad situation to be in my final point in this whole rigmarole shannon sharp my brother come come here come come have a seat Come have a seat in Club KK. Let's chat for a second here. My brother, you're 56 years old, and you're in phenomenal shape. You're 10 years older than me, and you look 10 years younger than me because you keep yourself in phenomenal shape. You're 56. Why are you messing with a teenage girl? Now, when you say it like that, it sounds, you know, pedophilish. But the girl's girl was 19 years old now, I don't care. Yes. She was legal. Of course. Yeah, that's fine But come on, she's not half your age. She's a quarter of your age What what what made you think that you can have an adult? Consensual relationship with a 19 year old white girl on OnlyFans Obviously she has daddy issues Why, why did you think you can have a consensual adult relationship with someone like that? Shannon, come on, bro. And then look, I know you get old, you know, you get older and your mind starts wandering. Do you still have it? Can you still pull them like you used to pull them? And yeah, obviously you can, but man, that don't mean you should. And. this is basically what you asked for you if you're going to get in a relationship with somebody that young-minded it don't have to be a young person because they got 30 40 year old women and men who still think they're in high school, you know, haven't matured yet. These are facts because you're listening to someone right now who hasn't fully matured and didn't start maturing until maybe about four or five years ago. And so it's not out of the realm of possibility that this was, well, obviously, a very immature individual. You're supposed to be smarter than that. At least everybody looked upon you as smarter than that. Come on, bro. I hope that this turns out all right for Shannon Sharp. If he's telling the truth, I hope that he comes out unscathed. If the accuser is telling the truth, I hope that justice prevails. And I'll just leave it at that. I think, personally, I have no side in this. I think they're both idiots. If everything was to stop today, if the lawsuit would stop, if everything would just go away right now and no charges, no settlements, no nothing, they're still going to go through life with Kevin Reed believing they're both idiots. And that's just that. This is ridiculous to me. It's ridiculous. And the reason I say she's an idiot. If this man raped you, sexually assaulted you, he should have been locked up. He should have been locked up. And I don't want to hear about being too scared to go to the police. You weren't too scared to go to that lawyer. So go to the police if it was that serious. So that's my opinion. That's my two cents on this whole situation. I think that they both need to grow up. especially her and she's young well she got an excuse she's still young you're young and you're stupid you uh shannon sharp he's just old and stupid you know he needs to grow up you know date your age bro stay in your lane but in any event that's that's my two cents uh i would love to know what do you think about this man what do you think about shannon sharp in this situation you know i I feel bad for him because he actually built something pretty cool, you know, with the Club Shay Shay podcast and with the Nightcap podcast he has with Ocho Cinco and all this here. You know, he was doing great things. He really was.
