Well, let’s take our Bibles, I am going to read Matthew 23:34 to 35 and then I will read Job 33:23 to 24 which I will tackle next time. Let’s read in Matthew 23: "Therefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes; and [some] of them ye will kill and crucify, and [some] of them ye will scourge in your synagogues, and will persecute from city to city; so that all righteous blood shed upon the earth should come upon you, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar."
Let’s read also Job 33:23 to 24: "If there be a messenger with him, an Interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his duty; Then He will be gracious unto him, and say, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom." Amen! Meditate on this passage of Job 33, I shall come back to that as I come back today on Matthew 23.
I have indeed read in the book of Saint Matthew but the first man I want to mention here is Enoch. Enoch lived before the flood. The Bible says in Jude verse 14 that he was the seventh. It’s first Adam in Genesis 5 verse 1, in verse 3 we have Seth, in verse 6 we have Enosh, the fourth is Cainan in verse 9, the fifth is Mahalaleel in verse 12, the sixth is Jared in verse 15 then the seventh is Enoch. We cannot speak of the holy servants of God without speaking of Enoch. Genesis 5:24 says, "And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him". That is the first rapture the Bible mentions.
And this prophet Enoch prophesied that one day, God would destroy the earth with water. You say, "Brother Philippe, did Enoch say that"? Yes, God revealed it to the world through Enoch. In his time, Enoch was the light of the world, and you could not be saved or be in the will of God but by Enoch.
Who was Enoch then? It was the first man who walked with the Spirit and power of Elijah. Enoch rejected all the churches, systems and organisations of his time to stay with the revelation of God. He did not walk on the teaching of a church or a Bible but with God. This is where God chose Elijah for the first time. You see?
It was this Enoch who clad with animal skins and which we have to recognize through Elijah the Tishbite. This was the first time that the Spirit of Elijah was manifested on the earth. That man who ascended to Heaven in Genesis 5 is Enoch. That man who ascended to Heaven in 2 Kings 2 is Enoch. And this man who will ascend to Heaven in Revelation 11 is Enoch. [Ed: The congregation says, "Amen!"].
When Enoch was leaving the earth, it was the light that was leaving the earth because the churches did not want It, the world did not want It... And the day when the sons of the devil removed the Lord Jesus Christ from the earth to perch Him on some wood, darkness covered the earth because He was the light of the world.
What put Noah in conflict with his generation was that he judged, condemned and called them sorcerers publicly instead of keeping sil
