My phone rang a lot for a revelation in the last preaching "Getting used to God". And you have all noticed how in Deuteronomy 32:48 to 52, at the end of his ministry, God took Moses onto Mount Nebo which is the Sabino Canyon and showed him in a vision the whole land of Canaan! Also notice that, between Mount Nebo and Jericho, there was another Prophet, Joshua the son of Nun and another baptism, which is that of the Jordan. [Ed: The congregation says, “Amen!”].
Well, let’s take our Bibles in the book of Jonah. It is on page 904 of the Old Testament ...
I greet Pastor John Makwo in Congo-Kinshasa. He wanted to understand 1 Peter 3:3 about plaits. Brother, if appareling is not a sin, so having one’s hair plaited is not either. But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of Jehovah; and he went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish."
Well. This morning, I am going to talk about the subject: The boat of Tarshish. It is a wonderful preaching that I preach again this morning ... The world achieved feats like the Tower of Babel, Nebuchadnezzar's palace in Babylon and many others. You remember the seven wonders I talked about here. But now, the seven wonders are destroyed and men are unable to agree on seven other wonders for the humanity. Why? Because they search for them on the physical level while they are now: The Internet, the UN, UNESCO, the world council of churches, Wall Street, it’s in those things that the wonders of our time must be looked for and the world feels admiration for those things! And it was in this spirit that the boat of Tarshish was made.
It was a boat that constituted Nineveh’s pride, but the Bible says that the Lord sent a great wind upon the sea, and there was a mighty tempest upon the sea, so that the boat was like to be broken. You see? Faced with the hand of God, the huge boat showed no resistance!
Also, when we talk about Tarshish in the Bible, we allude to gold, silver and various traffics. And the boat of Tarshish is nothing other than a boat of religious traders! And on the way, one could have a business meeting, share experiences, addresses, they would invite one another to the next great healing vigil of this church, of that church, of that mission, ...
The evangelical pastors would talk about politics, football, their next beach outing. And their best perfumes were like goat’s odour before God. You see? What revelation will you have when you are seated in the boat of Tarshish? What religion, what bible, what faith, what holy spirit when you are seated
