Hi everyone, I am Emeline Ozhan, Thematic Equity Strategy Manager, at SILEX. And we are the 10th of May. In April, we were forced to acknowledge that the late cycle economic phase had begun, and as such we prepared to enter an entirely new business cycle. On the back of the economic transition, this cycle could be more inflationary with both energy and labor more expensive and scarcer. The supply chain constraints and COVID crisis have paved the way for the simplification of the global supply chains from a security and environmental perspective. High inflation also prompts higher interest rates. In the short term, this has translated into high pressure on the equity markets. We expect this trend to continue for a few months before stabilizing. During this transition phase, quality - stable – and margin generative companies should be more resilient.
