Description
Paul reminds the Colossians—and us—that the gospel doesn’t just change our destination; it changes our identity, our relationships, and our entire way of life. Because of Jesus, we are clothed with a new identity as God’s chosen, holy, and beloved people. We no longer have to wear shame, performance, or self-reliance. Instead, we are called to intentionally put on the character of Christ through compassion, humility, patience, and love.
But following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey. Christ connects us to a new community where grace, forgiveness, and sacrificial love hold us together. In a world ruled by division, fear, and offense, God calls His people to let the peace of Christ rule their hearts and shape their relationships. And as the word of Christ dwells richly among us, Jesus becomes more than part of our lives—He becomes the center of them. The big question is: what is ruling your heart? Because whatever sits at the center of your life will ultimately shape who you become.
