Description
A tender, funny bedtime story for kids about trusting the littlest ones. For the very first time in eleven whole years, Sheriff Lopez has to leave Cactus-Ville for an entire day. But a town can never be left without a sheriff, not even for an afternoon, so somebody simply has to stand in. And to absolutely everyone's great surprise, it is tiny little Pico who gets to pin on the big shiny star.
Pico takes his brand-new role very, very seriously indeed, perhaps even just a tiny bit too seriously, marching all about the place and handing out rules and orders left, right, and centre. But deep down, trusting the smallest among us is really just giving them the chance to show how truly wonderful they can be, and Pico is absolutely determined not to let a single soul in town down. Little Pico puffs out his chest, tips his hat just so, and sets about his big day with all his might.
By the end of his big day, Pico has grown a good deal taller on the inside, and the whole town has learned something lovely: even the littlest sheriff can rise right up to the occasion, and do a fine job of it too, when people choose to believe in him. The whole town quietly roots for him, watching their littlest deputy grow into the role hour by hour.
This is a warm and funny story about the big trust we place in little ones, and the lovely things they go on to do with it. Just the thing to feel grown-up and proud right before going to sleep. It is a warm and funny little tale about how trust can help even the smallest among us shine.
It leaves a child quietly glowing with the feeling that they, too, can be counted on, a small but solid bit of confidence to carry off into the night.
A screen-free audio story for children ages 3 to 5, lovely to share at bedtime or in the car. And even after a good laugh, the Tilibou ending stays soft and quiet, without music, to help everyone wind down before the night. 🤠
