Hey, welcome to the show. This is Trailer Park, the podcast trailer podcast, and I'm Arielle, your host. Well, this is AI Riel, Arielle Nissenblatt's AI voice. There's your AI disclaimer. More on that at the end of today's episode. On Trailer Park, we bring you a podcast recommendation via its trailer. We play the trailer, and then we talk a bit about that trailer. Did it work? Was it too long? Short? Does the trailer match the overall tone of the show? We answer all sorts of questions about what makes short-form audio work as a promotional tour. We feature trailers of all kinds, and I want to hear your podcast's trailer. Head to trailerparkpodcast.crd.co to learn more and submit your sound. Let's get to today's episode. You're about to hear the trailer for CityCast Houston. If you're not familiar, CityCast is a network of daily local podcasts and newsletters that make you feel more connected to the city you love. It's a really cool initiative that's been around for a few years and takes local journalism seriously. Find out if there's a CityCast for your city by going to citycast.fm. Noah Snyderman, the technical director of audio at CityCast, reached out to me after attending a webinar I did recently about podcast trailers to let me know that he and his team were working on a revamp of their slate of trailers. I told him I was interested in hearing the new ones once they started dropping, so here we are. In his first note to me, Noah mentioned that, quote, The biggest takeaway from your presentation was that trailers don't have to be static, and we should be refreshing them as our talent changes. Duh. And we have more content to showcase. End quote. And that's Noah doing my job for me by giving you a lesson in short form audio production along with the episode. Let's hit play on that trailer for CityCast Houston. I'll be back when it wraps to close out the show.

Hey, it's Raheel Ramzanali. host of the CityCast Houston podcast. I love Houston. I love how we always have each other's backs. I love how we can't stop debating about our food scene.

  • Speaker #2

This is my big one for the year right now. I am not interested in eating in the Heights yet. I'm so sorry.

  • Speaker #1

And some of us even love sitting in traffic.

  • Speaker #3

I think you just need a Beyonce song to get you through Houston traffic.

  • Speaker #1

    But Houston is also complicated.

  • Speaker #4

Besides hashtag Houston strong. I mean, we are strong and we do come together, but it just makes you think, like, what can we do to make living here more sustainable?

  • Speaker #1

CityCats Houston is a daily conversation that covers everything you need to know about H-Town. The latest drama with bike lanes, which new restaurants are worth the hype, and what's actually happening with local politics. We talk about what matters in Houston in a way that's smart and fair, but we also don't take ourselves too seriously. Heck, we'll debate the most iconic Houston things ever.

  • Speaker #5

We have NAFA versus Houston Rodeo. We have Beyonce to the left, to the left, versus Simone Biles. And then we have barbecue versus Tex-Mex.

  • Speaker #1

CityCast Houston is the easiest, best way to keep up with what matters in H-Town. Listen to CityCast Houston wherever you get your podcasts by searching for CityCast Houston. And you don't want to miss Hey Houston, our daily newsletter. It's the perfect way to know about the latest events, news, and more for locals. Sign up at houston.citycast.fm. See y'all soon.

  • Speaker #6

It's a family-friendly event. I can't say this. This is going to be the blooper. I know it.

That was the trailer for CityCast Houston. Thank you again to Noah Snyderman for sending it to me. I love city-specific media, local journalism, some may call it. Absolutely remarkable concept. Revolutionary, even. I don't have much to critique about the trailer, really. I just wanted to play it for you. What do you think of it? I'll have a poll on Spotify where you can vote. At the top of the show, I mentioned that this voice is my voice. Arielle, your host, but more specifically, it's my AI voice. I've been experimenting a bit with these AI voice episodes, not because I'm all in on AI, possibly the opposite. I want to know if this works for you, or if it bores you out of your skull, or if you're just glad to be getting some trailer park in your feed. Any of the above feedback is much appreciated. And with that, I'll leave you to it. Discover more from CityCast or listen to past episodes of Trailer Park to find another show that sparked your interest. Get in touch with me to talk trailers by sending me a message on LinkedIn. I'll have a link in the show notes to my profile as well as to all of the shows and other elements I mentioned on this episode. Happy listening. Usually that would be said with enthusiasm, but let's see what AI real can muster. I'll be back on the mic soon. Bye.
