"Sense of belonging" is a series of podcasts produced as part of a programme launched by Frictions, born out of the collaboration between Paris 8's MFA in Creative Writing and Nonfiction Writing program of the University of IOWA. It was made possible thanks to the support of the US Embassy in Paris.

« Un studio sur l’Atlantique » associe deux universités pionnières en création littéraire des deux côtés de l’Atlantique : l’Université Paris 8 en France et l’Université d’Iowa aux Etats-Unis. Pendant quatre ans, les étudiant(e)s-écrivain(e)s de ces deux universités écrivent et réalisent des podcasts littéraires en français et en anglais. Après une première série réalisée en 2023 sur le thème du « Sentiments d’appartenance », la prochaine saison aura pour sujet « Soulèvements/Uprising ».
Une production Frictions et R22 Tout-Monde réalisée grâce au soutien de l’École Universitaire de Recherche ArTeC, de la fondation Villa Albertine et de l'Ambassade des Etats-Unis à Paris.

"A Studio on the Atlantic" brings together two pioneering universities in creative writing from both sides of the Atlantic: Paris 8 University in France and the University of Iowa in the United States. Over four years, student-writers from these two institutions collaborate to create literary podcasts in French and English. Following a first series produced in 2023 on the theme of "Sense of Belonging," the upcoming season will focus on "Uprisings."
