  Yeah, absolutely. I think, you know, when people think about astrology, they think about, you know, just their sun sign. Right. And maybe their moon sign if they're, you know, a little bit more into it.

  Right, exactly.

  But there's a whole chart. There's a whole birth chart. And this is part of it that can really give you a lot more information.

  So what comes to mind when you hear 12th house? I mean, is it, you know, secrets, past lives?

  Yeah.

  Kind of shadowy stuff.

• Speaker #1

  All of that. Yeah. It's like all the things that we're not aware of, you know. The subconscious. The unconscious. You know, it's kind of the hidden realm.

  Like we only see the tip of the iceberg, right? Exactly. The other houses are above the water.

  Yes.

  But the 12th house is all that stuff going on underneath.

  Yeah, exactly. And it's really fascinating because, you know, a lot of times we're trying to figure out why we do the things we do, why we feel the way we feel. And sometimes the answer is right there in the 12th house, you know, just kind of bubbling under the surface.

  So it's really practical in a way.

  It is, yeah.

  Even though it sounds kind of mystical and out there.

  Yeah. Yeah, but I mean, you know, it's also a house of endings and new beginnings. So, like, if you think about, you know, a time when you had a big ending in your life. Right. Maybe, you know, you had a relationship end or, you know, lost a job, you know, something big. All of that, like the pain and confusion you feel around that, you know, that's also the 12th house. It's that process of going through the ending, but then also, you know, coming out on the other side.

  Right. So it's preparing us. too for what's next.

  Exactly. Yeah. It's like the last chapter of the book before you start a new one.

  I like that.

  Yeah. And also the planet that rules your 12th house, you know, can kind of give you more information about what's going on there, what you might be dealing with.

  Okay. So how would someone figure that out? I mean, are we talking about where like.

• Speaker #1

  Yeah. So it's where the planets were when you were born.

• Speaker #0

  Exactly. It's all about, you know, what sign was on the cusp of your 12th house when you were born and then what planet. rules that sign. And that can give you a little bit more information. Like, for instance, if Neptune is the ruler of your 12th house, you might be very sensitive to other people's emotions or you might be, you know, drawn to creative pursuits, you know, like music or poetry, things like that.

  Okay. So that, that makes sense. Now, what about this concept of karma?

  Oh yeah.

  Because I always find that really intriguing when it comes to the 12th house. It is. But it's also, I don't know, it feels a little daunting. Like, you know, reaping what you sow in past lives. Like, what does that really mean? Well, it's less about, you know, punishment and more about understanding patterns. Okay. You know, so like, let's say you have, you know, this fear. Like, maybe you're terrified of open water. Okay. Right. And it's like seemingly inexplicable. You've never had a bad experience with water, you know, but you just you have this deep fear. Well, you know, when you start digging into your 12th house, maybe there was something, you know, in a past life that's connected to water that you're still working through.

  So these past experiences sort of, I don't know, leave an imprint on us.

  Yeah. Yeah.

  And then the 12th house kind of helps us uncover them. Right. And maybe even. heal from them yeah yeah it's about acknowledging those patterns and then you know working to transform them so the 12th house isn't all about introspection though right i mean there's also uh this connection to uh you know institutions and places of retreat talk about that a little bit yeah absolutely so you know think about places where people go to withdraw

  from the world okay right so like hospitals monasteries um even prisons these are all you know, associated with the 12th house.

  And it's not, I guess it's not necessarily about being physically confined. Right. It's more about that, I guess, psychological need to retreat.

  Exactly. Okay, cool. Yeah, and it's interesting because, you know, these days with, you know, the Internet and everything, it's really hard to find that solitude. It is, yeah. And so, you know, that's why it's even more important to be mindful of our 12th house.

  Well, you know, I think um, it's all about I guess self-discovery. Okay, you know, it's about understanding those parts of yourself that you know, you might not be consciously aware of right and You know and then it's about having compassion for yourself, you know, the 12th house can be a little scary Yeah, because it is you know about the shatter self

  The dark side.

  Yeah. But it's not about, you know, judging yourself. Right. It's about understanding and accepting all parts of yourself.

  I like that. So we really are just scratching the surface here today, right? I mean, this is a lifetime of exploration.

  Oh, yeah.
