Description
North Carolina's State Health Plan sued Charlotte-based Atrium Health on Friday to block a program that cuts copays for state workers who stay with Atrium doctors. The state says the plan would still pay Atrium's higher prices and could go broke. Atrium says it's absorbing the cost to protect patients. Open enrollment for nearly 750,000 teachers, state employees and retirees opens Monday, and the deadline has been pushed to November 6. Plus: the state gas tax comes off today, but not at the pump right away; Charlotte's data center hearing Monday; Wegmans opens in Ballantyne Wednesday; Charlotte FC hosts FC Dallas tonight; and a new coffee-and-cocktail café from the founder of Lorem Ipsum.
