Meet Dora Enimin, Principal Security Officer at the Port of Tema in Ghana, with 22 years of experience in maritime security. Starting as a security guard in 2002, she spent nine years confined to clerical duties in the intelligence cell while male colleagues took on strategic assignments, before pushing to move into fieldwork and eventually rising through the ranks. She shares how she coordinated over a thousand security personnel despite attempts by male counterparts to intimidate her, drawing strength from historical women warriors rather than backing down. Her advice to young women eyeing the sector: push your dreams, be bold, and take the leap. She sees a bright future ahead, pointing to more women now reaching leadership positions across the port.
