Francis Barel m'a fait l'honneur et l'immense privilège, d'être mon invité sur Experiences. Ce fut sa première discussion sur un Podcast français. 

Francis Barel est le Directeur de PayPal France. Il dirige PayPal France, le 4e plus grand pays pour PayPal dans le monde. Il travaille avec les grandes entreprises du e-commerce français, afin de les aider à se développer et à profiter des innovations que propose PayPal. Auparavant, Francis était Directeur Commercial, après avoir été Responsable du Business Développement pour PayPal France, et de 2013 à 2015, le Responsable Régional pour PayPal Moyen-Orient et Afrique du Nord.

Avant de rejoindre PayPal, Francis a travaillé pendant 7 ans dans le conseil en stratégie, spécialisé dans les services financiers, tout d’abord à New York chez Opera Solutions, puis chez Greenwich Consulting Group, à Paris. Dans le cadre de son travail de consultant, Francis est devenu un expert du e-commerce et des moyens de paiement, en France et dans les pays émergents.

Francis est titulaire d’un MBA de la Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth et est actuellement membre du Board européen de Tuck. Avant son MBA, Francis a travaillé pour BNP Paribas et a étudié à l’EDHEC. Il est aussi un membre fier et actif du réseau Unity chez PayPal (qui promeut le rôle des femmes à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur de PayPal), et un auteur de romans en anglais et en français.

Director, PayPal France

Francis Barel is the Director for PayPal France. As part of his role, Francis manages the 4th biggest territory for PayPal in the world. His team helps Large Merchants in France grow their business through the integration of PayPal services, as well as managing existing strategic relationships. Previously; Francis was the Head of Business Development for PayPal France and from 2013 to 2015 for PayPal Middle East & North Africa.

Before PayPal, Francis worked for 7 years as a strategy consultant specialized in financial services, at Greenwich Consulting Group, in Paris, and Opera Solutions, in New York. As part of his work for both companies, Francis became an expert in all forms of payments, whether with cards, mobile phone, or new technologies being developed for pilots or mass adoption.

Francis holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and is currently a member of the European Advisory Board. Prior to studying at Tuck, Francis worked for BNP PARIBAS CIB and graduated from EDHEC Business School with an MA. He is proud to say he was the first man to join Unity, the PayPal Affinity Group promoting the role of women inside and outside PayPal. Francis is also an avid reader and is a published author in both English and French.
