Description
Theorized by psychoanalyst Melanie Klein, projective identification is an unconscious defense mechanism where an individual projects unwanted emotional states—such as guilt or anger—onto another person. 🧠
By subtly provoking the other party to express these feelings, the projector avoids confronting their own psychological distress. Therapists emphasize bodily awareness to recognize induced emotions and maintain healthy psychological boundaries. 🌿
