Description

🗣 On our mic today, we have interviewed Cobie Starcevich 🇦🇺, currently a PhD student at Curtin University in Australia on the fear of re-injury in the anterior cruciate ligament. Cobie is an Australian physiotherapist and was the physiotherapist  of Cirque du Soleil artistic troupe 🎪. An experience that led her to travel all around the world, that allowed her to meet many physiotherapists and gave her the desire to contribute to physiotherapy research 🙌. She is also a passionate sportswoman who has touched many sports and now takes pleasure in Triathlon with some IronMan on the counter !

👀 In this episode, we're going to talk about her journey, the difficulty of both defining and investigating the fear of re-injury, the male/female differences in the cruciate ligament, but also women's body image and the brakes on strength training. We also share some thoughts about REDS (Relative Energy Deficiency In Sport) and its place in the occurrence of musculoskeletal injuriesn and other things as the management of menstruation in a long distance race like the IronMan.

🎖️ If you like our approach, please share this episode with your colleagues, your circle of friends, your mom and even your cat 🐱so that sportswomen care can impact as many people as possible!

🙌 Happy listening to you
