Description
Extremely good news, the audio is actually fixed on this one. Even better news, this is maybe our best episode yet. We're covering the Texas bred post-hardcore infused prog rock legends The Mars Volta and their debut album De-Loused in the Comatorium. We delve into the concept of this record surrounding the comatose dreams of a man named Cerpin Taxt as well as discuss the real life friend of Cedic Bixler-Zavala, Julio Venegas, whose death the story is loosely based on.
The version of the album I have is the Vinyl Me Please exclusive re-press on 180g gold and black marbled vinyl with completely remastered audio that honestly sounds fantastic. One of the best sounding pressings I personally own on vinyl. Their packaged in a nice gatefold sleeve with unique tip-on detailing around the artwork and an alternate cover. It also came with an exclusive 12x12 print done by photographer Robin Laananen. The whole package makes me nostalgic for the hay day of VMP.
In the news corner this week we cover the onfolding serious allegations made against Katy Perry by Ruby Rose as well as several others, and then to counter balance that serious story with some silly drama, we discuss the quitting and/or firing of drummer Eric Morotti from death metal band Suffocation so he can join different death metal band, Sanguisuggabog.
