Description
Have you ever wondered why, in some of the richest countries in Europe, millions of people still struggle to access decent food? Why do food banks and solidarity grocery stores keep multiplying while supermarkets continue to throw away tonnes of edible products? And what if food was treated as a right rather than a commodity?
In this episode, we explore food insecurity through the lens of student precarity and the right to food. Starting from the experience of students in Geneva and the work of the solidarity grocery store La Farce, the episode examines the structural causes of hunger and food insecurity in wealthy societies.
This episode also asks a broader question: what would it mean to democratically govern our food system? From Food Social Security projects in France to innovative experiments in Switzerland, we explore alternatives that seek to guarantee access to quality food for everyone while supporting producers, reducing waste and strengthening collective solidarity.
Enjoy the episode and see you soon for the next one! Bisous <3
